Adaptation by JCN website: country/territory filtering (excluding dissolved
AN and CS), country-level splitting, compact columns, bounded alternate
names, sorted results, and presentation labels. The source's administrative
codes are not a universal ISO subdivision list. No guarantees of accuracy,
timeliness or completeness; cities500 covers population >500 or administrative
seats down to PPLA4, not every settlement. Some countries/territories have no
city records in this subset. Missing places remain manually enterable.
